July has been such a busy month, what with jetting off to Benicassim and Fabulous magazine whilst interning and working in my pub, so with regards to my CAGECITY ootd's I am very sorry and I will now get back on track with them.

This week has been a very busy week at CAGECITY indeed and newness hit the office in terms of models, bloggers, samples and handmade, basically everything just got crazy!

So here's what I wore for these crazy ass days. What with this sun we've been having and the slight tan I have at the moment, on Friday I whipped out my legs in this black lace skirt. Feeling quite wintery though I decided to don it with a yellow floral spaghetti strap top to brighten up my look and of course teamed it with my trusty gold bar belt. Paired with a pair of strappy black sandals and my new gold ankle cuffs which are my bargain of the month for roughly £2.50 I was good and summery to go. These ankle cuffs are brilliant, I first spotted them on Hannah Crosskey blogger for aredlipneverdates.blogspot.co.uk and found them so unique and they completely transformed a lack lustre shoe.

For our Sunday Shoot seen in my previous post, I decided to bare the mid-drift courtesy of my tanned stomach, but due to bloating I quickly grabbed on a pair of high-waisted black shorts to create a twin-set kind of feel. With the sun shining and not feeling like being the woman in black I added my new white tassel waistcoat. I spotted this for only £8 in the New Look sale and had to have it, it's a great twist to any summer outfit and what with the statement detail and tassels you can definitely jazz up and outfit with this which is perfect for when your feeling lazy but not so perfect when you trapped in things due to the tassels being quite long.

Keep up to date with my Cagecity OOTD and check out my blog every weekend for new posts.

Cagecity Internship

This week has been so hectic- boyfriend coming back from Uni and getting ready to start my internship as Cagecity's blogger. I've undergone many work experiences before but have got to say I felt so welcome at Cagecity and I've only been there two days. Internships always get bad publicity, the stereotypical view of you will be the companies skivvy but I can honestly say Cagecity have made me feel so involved in their new brand and whats more exciting is I'm there when Cagecity are at the beginning and it will be so lovely to see them grow into something big. From writing blog posts to researching fashion bloggers to collaborate with the online site I've never felt so inspired.

When I take on work experience in the fashion industry, I don't know about you but I always stress over what I'm going to wear to work, for instance is what I'm wearing fashionable enough? Is it suitable for work? Will they like what I'm wearing? It's just that thing with fashion it comes with set judgements but here at Cagecity I've never felt so relaxed about my style. Cagecity's ethos is to not take yourself too seriously with fashion- don't be a slave to it, just have fun and be yourself. There's no threatening elitist fashion atmosphere, Cagecity is just a down to earth, hard working company that is definitely going places.

So after my two very first inspiring days at Cagecity I can't wait to get back to work next week.

Check out Cagecity's site here, you'll find some wicked clothes and its just been payday, so go spoil yourself:  http://www.dresscagecity.com/index.php

Bank Holiday Monday- Outfit of the day

Did I seriously agree to work on Bank Holiday weekend? Yes, yes I did, idiot over here agreed to cleaning the pub I work in for three days, really I should have taken into consideration that I would be hungover on the Monday due to celebrating my friends 18th the night before but it looks like I chose money over sleep. So what with the past three days consisting of me smelling like antibacterial spray and bleach from scrubbing the drunk infused toilets, my Mum and Dad surprised me with a trip out in the glorious sunshine to the pub around the corner finally a bit of bank holiday relief. What with the miraculous sun I couldn't help but don a yellow scarf to cheer me up and put me in the summer mood ( I told you my addiction to the colour yellow is getting slightly out of hand) and not forgetting my new fantastic Topshop purchase- my daisy necklace which I'm in love with and hardly ever remove. Here's my Bank Holiday Monday outfit of the day

Annabelle's Boutique

A few days ago on a hunt for a present for my best friends 18th I found myself actually going into the centre of Waltham Abbey (waits for gasps.) Now I've lived here for 12 years but like to keep my visits to the centre a bare minimum due to the lack of good quality shops and strange locals, what I'm trying to say is the only good thing to come out of Waltham Abbey is its vast variety of take aways-until now. Wandering up and down Sun Street stressing out about the lack of time I had to buy a present I stumbled across Annabelle's Boutique, it isn't hard to miss a decent shop in Waltham Abbey because when there is a good shop it sticks out like a sore thumb in the desolate and absurd street. Who ever thought you would see the day when fashion came to the Abbey?

The shop is a dainty boutique filled to the brim with glitter and diamantes, it was a room fit for a Princess and I sure did feel like one when I was greeted by two beaming friendly smiles as I entered. The boutique boasts variety, not only is there rails of clothes and bags but also baby presents and accessories, nothing is to miss. I only went to buy for my friend but found myself picking up items of clothes countless of times saying "oh Mum this is really lovely for me." Myself aside I switched back to present hunting and I instantly spotted a beige clutch bag (it also came in black.)

This bag is ideal, so practical that I'm even thinking of heading back just to buy myself one. Its not a clutch that you can stuff full with make up for a night out but it utilises itself as a purse inside so all you need to do is slip your phone in and you're good to go, so no worries about loosing your purse on a night out.

Throughout my stroll round the shop I was helped by the lovely owner who revealed what great offers the shop had with its brilliant prices. I have to say this boutique has in fact changed my cynical views on the town, I'll definitely be heading into the centre much more now. If you also have the same views that Waltham Abbey is just pub after pub after pub with the occasional empty shop don't be put off head straight over Annabelle's Boutique and put some sparkle back into the town. Or if Waltham Abbey still isn't your cup of tea or live too far away don't let that stop you Annabelle's Boutique hosts clothes parties in store and at your house, so there's a sprinkle of Annabelle's sparkly fashion dust wherever you are.

Carrie Bradshaw

Twitter is a social portal where we all go to stalk, communicate and find out information. For a while now I have been following the fictional Sex and the City style queen character Carrie Bradshaw. Apart from her witty lifestyle advice on "you can make anything you do classier with a glass of wine in your hand" and "don't cry go shopping and get over it" she also comments on the essence of fashion and style. Today while scrolling mindlessly through pointless tweets I came across a Carrie Bradshaw original tweet: "style is a way to say who you are without having to speak." People may say don't judge a book by its cover yet we all seem to analyse peoples clothes and the way they have styled themselves. For instance a man in a smart tailored suit with expensive shoes may reveal that he is a well groomed man, who is intellectual and takes pride in his appearance, while teenagers in hoodies have become stereotypically renowned for being trouble makers. As a result, style is seen as a portal to everyone’s personalities.
